Lectures PDF Print E-mail

In this section, you will find general information pertaining to the lectures.

While lectures are helpful, attendance is not compulsory. If you register by the first closing date for each of the semesters you will receive a lecture attendance notice approximately two weeks before your first lecture, which will confirm the exact location and time of your lectures. This information will be available in your online Student Centre (SC).

It rarely happens that dates or venues of lectures need to be changed due to circumstances beyond our control. If this happens, you will be given as much notice as possible. Therefore, you should check the SC regularly.

In order to get the most out of your lectures, it is important that you have read the relevant chapters from the study manual beforehand. Also, where applicable, you should download the lecture slides from the SC, as hardcopy of the slides will not be available at lectures.

Please note that if you re-register to sit a module (having paid the examination fee only) you will not receive any notice of lecture details as those re-registered for examination only are not entitled to attend support lectures.

The Re-registration Plus mode is only offered for Professional Diploma in Financial Advice modules and consists of a 1 day revision workshop in Cork and Dublin only. In order to avoid clashes with any other lectures which you might attend, the revision lectures will usually be held on Sundays in the lead-up to the exam.

Lecture Venues & Dates

All lecture venues are offered subject to adequate student demand. Should there be insufficient demand for your chosen venue, you will automatically be re-allocated to your nearest available venue. It is this new venue which will be detailed on your lecture attendance notice.

If you wish to change your venue you can contact us on 01 6116500 or email  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . We cannot guarantee that we will be able to accommodate a change, but we will try our best.

Most lectures occur outside office hours, either on weekday evenings or at the weekend.

Semester 1 lectures run from end of September to December, Semester 2 from February to April, and Semester 3 from July to end of August. Please note that for 2009/2010 academic year Semester 3 lectures will be delivered mostly over 4 weekend days. Some lectures may take place on Saturdays and/or Sundays and occasionally on a weekday evening.
